Yoke:
Using Afghan Hook ch 184.

Row 1: Insert hook in 2nd ch from hook, yo and draw through a loop, * insert hook in
next ch, yo and draw through a loop, rep from * to end. 184 sts on hook.

Row 2: Working from left to right, yo and draw through one lop, * yo and draw
through 2 loops on hook, rep from * until one loop remains.

Row 3: Omit vertical loop on extreme edge of previous row, * insert hook from right
to left through next vertical loop of previous row, yo and draw through a loop, rep
from * 27 times more, insert hook from right to left through next 3 vertical loops of
previous row together as one, yo and draw through all 3 loops–called dec 3 tog–,
work in each of next 32 vertical loops, dec 3 together, work in each of next 32
vertical loops dec 3 together, work in each of next 52 vertical loops, dec 3 together,
work in each of next 32 vertical loops, dec 3 together, work in each of enxt 28
vertical loops.

4th & Ever Other Row: As 2nd row.

Row 5: Work in pattern for 27 sts, dec 3 together, pattern 30, dec 3 together,
pattern 50, dec 3 together, pattern 30, dec 3 together, pattern 27.

Row 7: Pattern 26, dec 3 together, pattern 28, dec 3 together, pattern 48, dec 3
together, pattern 28, dec 3 together, pattern 26.

Row 9: Pattern 25, dec 3 together, pattern 26, dec 3 together, pattern 46, dec 3
together, pattern 26, dec 3 together, pattern 25.

Continue decreasing in this way until 56 sts remain, ending with a 2nd row.
Work one row of sc in sps between vertical loops. Fasten off.

Sleeves:
Cast on (as for knitting) 4 sts (4 loops on hook), with RS facing pick up 36 sts
across lower edge of yoke between one pair of shoulder decreases, cast on 4 sts.
44 sts.
Row 2: Working from left to right, yo and draw through one lop, yo and draw through
2 loops on hook, * ch 4, yo and draw through 5 loops on hook – cluster made–,
repeat from * ending with yo and draw through 3 loops on hook.

Row 3: Ch 1, skip first of 4 ch, (insert hook in next 4 ch, yo and draw through a loop)
3 times, * skip next cluster, (insert hook in next ch, yo and next draw through one
loop) in each of next 4 ch, rep from * to end.
Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows until work measures 5" from beginning, ending with 3rd
row.
Change to plain afghan stitch as given for yoke and work one row.
Next Row: Omit vertical loop on extreme edge of previous row, * insert hook from
right to left through next vertical loop of previous row, yo and draw through a loop, *
insert hook from right to left through the next 2 vertical loops together as one, yo
and draw a loop through both vertical loops– called dec 2 together–, insert hook
from right to left through next vertical loop, yo and draw through a loop, rep from *
to end.
Work 5 rows more in plain afghan stitch. Work one row of sc in sps between the
vertical loops. Fasten off.
Make other sleeve in the same way between opposite shoulder decreases. Using
tapestry needle and same yarn, sew underarm seams of sleeves together.

Main section: With RS facing, beg at left front yoke and pick up 30 sts across left
front, 8 sts across cast-on sts at underarm, 56 sts across back, 8 sts across cast-
on sts at underarm, and 30 sts across right front. Work in afghan lace stitch as
given for sleeves for 7", ending with a 2nd pattern row. Fasten off.

To Finish: Press or block according to yarn used. Thread ribbon through the neck.
