Rough-N-Ready Cowboy:
Materials: J & P Coats Knit Cro Sheen 1 ball each of blue (CA) and white (CD)
 Steel Crochet Hook Size 3
 Tapestry Needle
 Elastic Cord
5 size 2/0 snaps for shirt
1 size 2/0 snap for pants
Sewing Thread and Needle

Gauge: 1 sc = 1”; 9 rows = 1”; 13 dc = 2”; 8 rows = 2”

Jeans:
Starting at waist with CA ch 39 loosely.
Upper Section:
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. (38 sc)
Row 2: Sc in first sc and in each sc across. Mark this row with contrasting colour thread as right side. Ch 1, turn.
Rows 3-7: Rep row 2.
Row 8: Work as for row 2 increasing 5 sts evenly spaced by working 2 sc in one st for each increase. Ch 1, turn. (43 sts)
Row 9: Rep row 2.
Rows 10 & 11: Rep rows 8 and 9. (48 sts)
Rows 12 & 13: Rep rows 8 and 9 increasing 6 sts instead of 5 on row 8. (54 sts)
Row 14: Rep row 2.
First Leg:
Row 1: Sc in first st and in next 26 sts. Do not work over remaining sts. Ch 1, turn. (27)
Rows 2-5: Rep row 2 of upper section.
Row 6: Work as for row 2 decreasing 3 sts evenly spaced by work dec as follows: (insert hook in next st and draw up a lp) twice,
yo and draw through all 3 lps on hook (sc-dec made). Ch 1, turn. (24 sts)
Rows 7-17: Rep row 2 of upper section.
Row 18: Rep row 6 (21 sts)
Row 19-39: Work even. At end of row 39, do not ch 1. Fasten off.
Second Leg:
Attach CA to st following last st of row 1 of first leg, ch 1.
Row 1: Sc in same st where thread was attached and in each st across. (27 sts)
Ch 1, turn. Complete as for first leg.
Waistband:
Mark center of row 1 of upper section after 19th st.
First Side: With right side facing, attach CA to bottom of first foundation ch on back left side, ch 2 for first hdc.
Row 1: Hdc in next 18 ch sts. Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: Sc in first hdc, sc in each hdc across and in top of ch-2. Fasten off.

Second Side:
Row 1: Ch 5, hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in next 2 ch (front tab started), hdc in foundation ch following last hdc of first side of
waistband, hdc in next 18 ch sts. Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: Sc in first hdc, sc in next 18 hdc, sc next 3 hdc of front tab and sc in top of last ch-2. Fasten off. Tack 4th st of tab to first
hdc on pants. Weave end securely. Sew size 2/0 snap to inside of front tab. Weave inside seams of each leg together, then
weave together back seam for approximately ½”. Sew two size 2/0 snap to back with one at waistline.
Shirt:
Lower Section:
Starting at lower edge, with CD ch 39 loosely.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (38 sc) Mark this row with contrasting colour thread as right side. Ch 1,
turn.
Row 2: Sc in first st and each st across. Ch 1, turn.
Rows 3-19: Rep row 2. Piece measures approx 2 ¼”.
First Side:
Row 1: Sc in first 9 sts. Do not work over remaining sts. Ch 1, turn.
Rows 2-8: Rep row 2 of lower section.
Row 9: Sc in fist st, (insert hook in next st and draw up a lp)twice, yo and draw through all 2 lps on hook (sc-dec made), sc
across. Ch 1, turn.
Row 10: Rep row 2 of lower section.
Row 11 & 12: Rep rows 9 and 10. At end of row 12, do not ch 1. Fasten off.
Back:
With wrong side facing, attach CD to st following end of row 1 of first side.
Row 1: Ch 1, sc in same st and next 19 sts. Ch 1, turn. (20 sc)
Row 2-12: Work even over 20 sts at end of row 12. Do not ch-1. Fasten off.
Second Side:
With wrong side facing, attach CD to st following end of row 1 of back.
Row 1: Ch 1, sc in first sc and in next 8 sts. Ch 1, turn. (9 sts)
Rows 2-8: Rep row 2 of first side.
Row 9: Sc in first st and in each st across to within last 3 sc, work sc-dec over next 2 sc, sc in last sc. Ch 1, turn.
Row 10: Rep row 5 of first side.
Row 11 & 12: Rep rows 9 and 10. At end of row 12, do not ch 1. Fasten off. Weave together shoulder seams.
Edging:
With right side facing, attach CA to lower right corner of shirt, ch 1, sc in same st where thread was attached, work 30 sc evenly
spaced to back of neckline, work 8 sc over back, work 30 sc evenly spaced over next edge to lower left corner. Fasten off.
First Front Band:
With right side facing, attach CA to first st of edging, ch 1.
Row 1: Sc in same st where thread was attached and in next 23 sc. Ch 1, turn. (24 sc)
Row 2 & 3: Sc in first st and in each st across. Ch 1, turn. At end of row 3, do not ch 1. Fasten off.
Second Front Band:
With right side facing, attach CA to 24th st from lower left corner, ch 1. Repeat rows 1-3 of first front band.
Collar:
Row 1: With right side facing, attach CA to same st as last st on row 1 of first front band, ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next st and
each st across to opposite front band, sc in next st which is same st where second front band was started. Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: Work 2 sc in first st, sc in next st and each st across to within last st, 2 sc in last st. Ch 1, turn.
Rows 3 & 4: Rep row 2. At end of row 4, do not ch 1. Fasten off. Fold collar over and tack in place with sewing thread. Sew
snaps evenly spaced down front band starting at neck with left side overlapping right side.
Sleeve:
Make two. With CD ch 12.
Row 1: Rep row 1 of shirt (11 sts).
Row 2: Sc in first st, 2 sc in next st, sc across to within last 2 sts in next st, sc across to within last 2 sts, 2 sc in next sc, sc in last
sc. Ch 1, turn.
Rows 3-6: Sc in first st and in each st across. Ch 1, turn.
Rows 7-25: Rep rows 2-6, three times more, than rep rows 2-5 once more. At end of row 25, do not ch 1. Fasten off.
Cuff:
Attach CA to bottom of first foundation ch of row 1 of sleeve, ch 1.
Row 1: Sc in same st where thread was attached and in bottom of next 10 foundation ch. Ch 1, turn.
Rows 2 & 3: Work rows even in sc. Fasten off.

Finishing:
Weave together sleeve seam matching colours, then sew sleeve into armhole. Weave in all thread ends. Do not use knots.

Gauge: 7 sc = 1”; 9 rows = 1”
In skirt pattern: 4 rows = 1 ½”

Skirt:
Starting at waist with CA, ch 64 having 7-ch sts to 1”.
Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. (62 dc counting ch-3 as 1 dc). Mark this row with contrasting
colour thread as right side.
Row 2: Sc in each dc across, sc in top of ch-3. Ch 3, turn.
Row 3: Dc in next sc and in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
Row 4 & 5: Rep rows 2 and 3.
Row 6: Rep row 2 to within last st, draw up a lp in top of last ch-3, drop CA and cut thread, leaving 6” tail, with CB thread over
and draw through 2 lps on hook (sc colour change made). Ch 3, turn.
Row 7: Work as follows in back lp only of each st across: Dc in next sc, * 2 dc in next sc (inc made), dc in next 2 sc. Rep from *
across. Ch 1,turn. (82 sts)
Rows 8-11: Rep rows 2 and 3 alternately.
Row 12: Rep row 2 working colour change to CC at end of row. Ch 3, turn.
Row 13: Rep row 7 to last 2 sc, inc in next sc, dc in last sc. Ch 1, turn. (109 sts)
Rows 14-20: Rep rows 2 and 3, three times and row 2 once. Fasten off. Weave together center back seam leaving ¾” open at
waist.
Edging:
(Work in front lp only of rows 6 and 12 and across bottom edge of skirt): With right side facing, attach CD to st at back seam of
row, ch 1.
Row 1: Sc in same st where thread was attached; sk next 2 sts, work 7 dc in next st, sk next 2 sts, sc in next st (shell made);
work shells evenly spaced around, end by not working last sc of shell and instead sl st to beg sc. Fasten off. Draw elastic
through sts on inner side of waist, pull to fit and secure. Sew snap to corner of waistline.
Blouse:
Starting at lower edge, with CD ch 38 having 6-ch sts to 1”.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 9 ch, place a thread between last sc worked and next sc, sc in next 17 ch, place
another thread as before, sc in last 10 ch. Ch 1, turn. (37 sc) Note: Carry thread up on every row.
Rows 2-4: Sc in first sc and each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
Rows 5-6: (Sc in each sc to 2 sc before next marker, draw up a lp in each of next 2 sc, yo and draw through all lps on hook (dec
made), dec over next 2 sc) twice, sc in remaining sts. Ch 1, turn. (29 sc at end of row 6)
Rows 7-12: Rep row 2.
Rows 13 & 14: (Sc in each sc to 1 sc before next marker, 2 sc in next sc--inc made--in in next sc) twice, sc in remaining sts. Ch
1, turn. (37 sc at end of row 14)
Rows 15-21: Rep row 2.
Straps:
Sl st to 5th sc from end of last row.
Row 1: Ch 1, sc in same place, sc in next 2 sc. Mark this row as wrong side. Ch1, turn, * work even over 3 sc until strap is 2”
and end with working a wrong side row, sk next 5 sc on last long row worked for armhole, holding together right sides of strap
and bodice (wrong side facing), insert hook in next sc of bodice and strap and sl st together, sl st in next 2 sts working through
both thicknesses **, sl st in next 8 sts on bodice, ch 1, sc in 8th st, sc in next 2 sc. Rep from * for second strap, end at **, sl st in
last 4 sts. Fasten off.
Edging:
Work around each armhole. With right side facing, attach CC to center st at underarm, ch 2, sc in same st, sk next 2 sts and
work shell as for skirt edging in next corner st, work 2 more shells across strap evenly spaced, then work 1 more shell in next
corner of underarm and sl st to beg sc. Fasten off. Sew 2 snaps to upper back opening.

Finishing:
Weave in all ends.
