Baby Sacque Set
Baby Sacque Set

Materials: Anchor Cronita cotton 5 Balls of Beauty Pink
Crochet Hooks Size 4 & 7 or 1.75 mm and 1.50 mm
Ribbon for Sacque 1 yd Pink ½" wide, 1 ½ yds lace 1 inch wide
Ribbon for Bootees 2 yds Pink 1/4" wide, 1 1/4 yds lace 1 inch wide

Directions for 6 Months and 1 year are in ( )

Sacque:
Back Yoke:
Starting at lower edge with no. 7 hook, ch 70 (76) having 9 ch sts to 1
inch.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. 69 (75) sc. Ch 1,
turn.

Row 2: Sc in back loop of each sc across. Ch 1, turn.

Repeat 2nd row until length is 2 (2 1/4") inches. Break off and fasten off.

Right Front Yoke:
Starting at lower edge, ch 34 (40). Work same as for back yoke over the
33 (39) sc until length is 1 (1 1/4) inches.

Neck Shaping:
Row 1: Sc in next 22 (24) sc. Do not work in remaining sc. Ch 1, turn.

Row 2: Draw up a loop in each of first 2 sc, thread over and draw
through all loops on hook–1 sc decreased at neck; sc in each remaining
sc. Ch 1, turn. Continue as before, decreasing 1 sc at neck edge on
every row until 18 (20) sc remain. Work even until same number of rows
have been completed as on back yoke. Break off and fasten.

Left Front Yoke:
Work as for right front yoke to within 1 row before neck shaping. Starting
with neck shaping complete as for other yoke.
Sew shoulder seams.

Body:
Row 1: With No 4 hook and working along opposite side of starting chain
of left front yoke, attach thread to first ch at front edge, ch 1, sc in same
ch and in next 2 ch, * ch 2, skip next ch, 3 tr in next ch, ch 2, skip next
ch, sc in next 3 ch. Repeat from * across. Ch 4, turn.

Row 2: Skip first sc, tr in next 2 sc, * ch 2, sc in next 3 tr, ch 2, tr in next 3
sc. Repeat from * across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 3: * Sc in next 3 tr, ch 2, tr in next 3 sc, ch 2. Repeat from * across,
ending with sc in last 2 tr, sc in top of turning chain. Ch 4, turn. 2nd and
3rd rows worked alternately form pattern.

Rows 4 to 7: Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows twice. At end of last row, break
off and fasten. Working along opposite side fo starting chain of back
yoke, attach thread to first ch and repeat first through 7th rows of body.
Working along opposite side of staring chain of right front, attach thread
to first ch at armhole edge and repeat 1st through 7th rows of body. At
end of last row do not break off, but ch 4, turn.

Armhole Shaping:
Row 1: Continuing in pattern, work across right front, ch 11 for
underarm, work across back, ch 11 for underarm, work across left front.
Ch 1, turn.

Row 2: (Work in pattern across to within next ch-11, ch 2, skip 1 ch, sc in
next 3 ch, ch 2, skip 1 ch, 3 tr in next ch, ch 2, skip 1 ch, sc in next 3 ch,
ch 2, skip 1 ch) twice; complete row in pattern. Continue in pattern until
length from underarm is 6 ½ (7) inches, ending at right front edge. Do
not break off. Change to No. 7 hook. Being carful to keep work flat and
making 3 sc in each corner at neck, sc evenly along right front, neck
and left front edges. Break off and fasten.

Sleeves:
Starting at top edge with No. 4 hook, ch 68 (76) sts having 8 ch sts to 1
inch.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook an din next 2 ch, * ch 2, skip next ch, tr in
next 3 ch, ch 2, skip next ch, sc in next 3 ch. Repeat from * across. Ch 4,
turn. Continue in pattern as for body until 4 rows have been completed.
Place a marker at beg and end of last row. Continue in pattern until total
length is 6 ½ (7) inches. Ch 1,turn.         

Cuff:
Change to No. 7 hook.

Row 1: Sc evenly around, holding in to fit. Ch1, turn.
Next 4 rows: Sc in back loop of each sc across. Ch 1, turn. At end of last
row, break off and fasten.

Press lightly through damp cloth. Sew sleeve seams up to the markers.
Sew in sleeves to fit, gathering top if necessary. Gather lace and sew
along both front and neck edges. Sew gathered lace along starting
chain of yokes. Cut 2 pieces of ribbon each 16 inches long and sew in
place at neck for ties.                 

Bootees:
Upper: Starting at toe edge, ch 13.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across–12 sc. Ch 1, turn.
Hereafter, work in back loop only of each sc.

Row 2: Sc in each sc across to within last sc, 2 sc in last sc–1 sc
increased at end of row. Ch 1,turn.

Rows 3 to 19: Repeat 2nd row–30 sc on 19th row.

Row 20: Sc in first 10 sc. Ch 1, turn. Don not work over remaining sts.
Next 6 rows: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. At end of last row ch 14,
turn.

Heel Section:
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch and each sc across –23
sc. Ch 1 turn.

Row 2: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.

Next 24 rows: Repeat 2nd row. Ch 1, turn.

First Strap:
Row 1: Sc in first 8 sts. Ch 1, turn. Don not work over remaining sts.

Rows 2 to 6: Repeat last row. Ch 1, turn.

Row 7: Sc in first 2 sc, ch 4, skip 4 sc for eyelet; sc in last 2 sc. Ch 1,
turn.

Row 8: Sc in each sc and in each ch across. Break off and fasten.
Leaving the 10 center sc free on 19th row, attach thread to next sc, ch
1, sc where thread was attached and in next 9 sc. Ch 1, turn.

Next 6 rows: Sc in each sc across–10 sc. Ch 1, turn.
At the end of last row , break off and fasten. Sew last row to
corresponding sts of last row of heel section.

Second Strap:
Row 1: With wrong side facing, attach thread to top edge of starting
chain of heel section, ch 1, sc in same place where thread was attached
and in next 7 ch. Ch 1, turn. Complete as for first strap.                 

Sole:
Rnd 1: Working along lower edge of upper, attach thread to center of
heel section, ch 1, make 39 sc to within toe edge, make 8 sc along toe
edge and 39 sc over remaining side –86 sc.
Join with sl st to first sc. Ch 1, turn.
Hereafter, work through both loops of each sc.

Rnd 2: Sc in first 27 sc, dec 1 sc over next 2 sc, (sc in next 8 sc, dec 1
sc over the next 2 sts) 3 times; sc in next 27 sc. Join. Ch 1, turn.

Rnd 3: Decreasing 2 sc at toe edge and 3 sc at heel edge, sc in each sc
around. Join. Ch 1, turn.

Repeat 3rd rnd 8 times more. At end of last rnd, break off and fasten.
Sew center of sole together.

Work other bootee in same way. Trim bootees with lace as shown. Draw
16 inches of ribbon through eyelets and tie into a bow. With remaining
ribbon, make 2 rosettes and sew on front of each bootee.
