Materials: Crochet Cotton Cream and Brown
Crochet Hook Size 9


With cream ch 36, dc in 4th ch from hook, 1 dc in each remaining sts of ch (ch 3 counts 1 dc
in each row), ch 3 to turn each row.

Rows 2 & 3: Working in dc, increase 3 dc at beginning and end of row.

Rows 4 & 5: Increase 2 dc at beginning and end of each row.

Rows 6 to 20: Work even, break thread.

Cap: Attach brown in last dc, ch 5, 1 dc in 4th st from hook, 1 dc in next st of ch, dc in next
dc, popcorn st in next st, (popcorn st: 5 dc in same space, drop loop off hook, insert book in
first dc and pull loop through, ch 1 to tighten stitch) * 1 dc in each of next 2 dc, popcorn st in
next st, repeat from * 16 times, dc in next dc, trc in same space with last dc, work 2 more trc
working each trc into lower loop of previous st (an increase), ch 1, turn.

Row 2: Work 1 sc in each st, ch 3, turn. (60 sc)

Row 3: Popcorn st in next st, * 1 dc in each of the next 2 dc, popcorn st in next st, repeat
form * 18 times, dc in last st, ch 1, turn.

Row 4: 1 sc in each st, ch 1, turn.

Row 5: Sl st over first 4 sc, popcorn st in next st, * 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, popcorn st
in next st, repeat from 8 16 times, ch 1, turn.

Row 6: 1 sc in each st (52 sc), ch 1, turn.

Row 7: Slip st over the first 3 sc, popcorn st in next st, * 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts,
popcorn st in next st, repeat from * 14 times, ch 1, turn.

Row 8: 1 sc in each st (46 sc), ch 1, turn.

Row 9: Slip st over the first 3 sts, popcorn st in next st, * 1 dc in each of the next 2 dc,
popcorn st in next st, repeat from * 12 times, ch 1, turn.

Row 10: 1 sc in each st (40 sc), ch 1, turn.

Row 11: Slip st over the first 6 sts, popcorn st in next st, * 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts,
popcorn st in next st, repeat * 8 times, break thread.

With right side of work towards you, attach cream in first dc of first row, ch 1 and working
across lower edge, work 1 sc in each of the first 9 sts, 1 sdc in each of the next 3 sts, (sdc:
thread over hook insert in st, pull through, thread over and work off all loops at one time) 1
dc in each of next 2 sts, 1 trc in each of next 2 sts, 1 dtr (3 times over hook) in each of next 2
sts, 1 trc in each of next 2 sts, 1 dc in each of next 2 sts, 1 sdc in each of next 3 sts, 1 sc in
each of next 9 sts, break thread. Work another section in same manner.

Crochet the 2 sections together with a row of sc using cream on lower sections, crochet top
sections together in the same manner with brown. Make a loop for hanging.
