Victorian Hat Ornament Crochet Pattern

Materials: Crochet Cotton 45 yds of whatever colour you choose
Crochet Hook Size 3
Fabric Stiffener
Ch 6, sl st to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 4, 23 tr in ring. To join, sl st in top of ch 4.
Rnd 2: Ch 4, tr in same st, 2 tr in each st around, join same as above.
Rnd 3: * Ch 3, skip 1 st, sl st in next st * , rep from * to * around to last st. To join, ch 1, dc in first sl st.
Rnd 4: * Ch 4, sl st in next sp *, rep from * to * around. To join, ch 2, dc in first sl st.
Rnd 5: * Ch 5, sl st in next sp* , rep from * to * around. To join, ch 2, tr in first sl st.
Rnd 6: Ch 4, (tr, ch 2, 2 tr) in same sp, (shell=2 tr, ch 2, 2 tr) in each sp around. Join with sl st in top of
ch 4.
Rnds 7 & 8: Sl st to sp for first shell, ch 4, (tr, ch 2, 2 tr) in same sp, shell in each shell around. To join,
sl st in top of ch 4.
Rnd 9: * Ch 4, sc in shell, ch 4, sc between next 2 shells * , rep from * to * around, join with sl st in first
ch st.
Rnd 10: Ch 1, 4 sc in each sp around, join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off.
Cut an 8" length of cotton, fold in half, loop it through the top of the ornament and knot the ends to
form the hanger.
Starch with spray starch or starch of your choice.
