Ghost Potholder or Hotpad
Materials: 4 oz each Black and White
1 oz Orange
Crochet Hook Size G
Approximate Size 8" Square
Note: When changing colors always drop yarn to wrong side of work. Do not
work over dropped color; carry yarn loosely across back of work to next section
of same color. Fasten off colors when no longer needed.
Front:
Row 1: With black, ch 31, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across, turn (30
sc)
Row 2-3: Ch 1, sc in each st scross, turn.
Rows 4-27: Ch 1, sc in each st across changing colors according to ghost hot
pad graph, turn.
Rows 28-30: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. At end of last row, fasten off.
Back:
Row 1: With black, ch 31, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across, turn. (30
sc)
Row 2-30: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. At end of last row, fasten off.
Edging:
To join, holding front and back wrong sides together, working through both
thicknesses, join orange with sc in top left corner st; for hanging loop, ch 10, sc
in same st; sc in each st and in end of each row around with 2 sc in each corner
st, join with sl st in first sc, fasten off.
