Falling Leaves Shawl
                                                                                Falling Leaves Shawl

This shawl is made with my
KnitCrate" target="_blank">knit crate box. I receive one a month and have been doing so for a long time. I love the yarn, it's a
great way to get some high quality yarn at a good price.

This is a very easy shawl with simple stitches but looks great. If your a beginner you should be able to make this shawl. It has
beautiful stitch definition and I love the colour. This shawl can be done in any size yarn and will look lovely.

Materials:

4 Knitologie Worsted Merino in kestrel 100 gram skeins

Size 4.5 Crochet Hook

Tapestry Needle

Stitches Used:

Ch - chain
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
sp - space
Xdc - cross stitch double crochet
Cstitch - crab stitch

Using a magic circle or ch3 join to first ch, then make the following in the circle.
Ch 3, 3 dc, ch 2, 4 dc.

1) Ch 3, 1 dc in first dc, dc in each st to the ch 2 space, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in ch 2 space, dc in each dc to last ch 3, 2 dc in last
stitch. Turn.

2) Ch 2, hdc in same, ch 1, skip next stitch, hdc in next stitch, ch 1, skip next stitch, hdc in next stitch until center ch 2, 2 hdc,
ch 2, 2 hdc in center space, then hdc, ch 1, skip next stitch, hdc in next st until last stitch, 2 hdc in last stitch. Turn.
It is sometimes hard to find the hole to crochet in the hdc but it is on the left of the stitch.

3) Ch 1, 2 sc in first stitch, then 1 sc in each stitch until center then 1 sc, ch 2, 1 sc in center stitch, sc in each stitch until end,
2 sc in last stitch.

4) Ch 2, dc in same, Xdc until center, then 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in center, Xdc until last stitch then 2 dc in last stitch. Turn.
Xdc - skip next dc then dc in stitch, go back and dc in last stitch over the first stitch.

Repeat last four rows until length you would like ending with row 1, then crab stitch around the shawl.
C stitch is a single crochet worked from left to right. If you have problems with this stitch there are numerous Utube video for
this stitch.
