With yellow ch 74.
Row 1: Dc in 8th ch from hook for first sp, * ch 2, sk 2 ch, dc in next ch. Rep from * across. Ch 5, turn. (23 sp)
Row 2: Sk first sp, dc in next dc, * ch 2, sk sp, dc in next dc. Rep from * across, end ch 2, sk 2 ch of turning ch, dc in next ch. Ch 5,
turn.
Rep row 2 until there are 31 rows. Break off.
Motifs:
Using white instead of yellow and using yellow instead of white; work and join 16 motifs as follows: Ch 1, sc in same loop, ch 7, sc in
next loop, ch 7, dc in corner loop, ch 2, sl st in corresponding corner on motif 1, ch 2, dc in same corner on motif 2, (ch 3, sl st in
next loop on motif 1, ch 3, sc in next loop on motif 2) 2 times, ch 3, sl st in next loop on motif 1, ch 3, dc in corner loop on motif 2, ch
2, sl st in corner loop on motif 1, ch 2, dc in same corner on motif 2; complete remainder same as motif 1. Continue making and
joining motifs the same as motif 2 was joined to motif 1 until the piece is 15 motifs by 15 motifs. As required, join one or two sides
on each motif; where three or four corners meet, sl st in previous sl st to join corners. Follow pic, be sure to join motifs to form a
frame to fit around center.
Finishing:
Joining: Pin center in place, with frame of motifs all around, easing to fit. With yellow tack frame in place. Weave in ends.
Border:
Join white in any corner, ch 8 for first dc and ch 5, dc in same corner, * (ch 8, sc in next ch-loop) 3 times, ch 8, dc in joining of
motifs, skip corner loop after joining; repeat from * to corner motif, work across motif as before, in corner work dc, ch 5, dc.
Continue around as established, join with sl st to 3rd ch of starting ch-8. Break off.
Lining:
From fabric cut two pieces, each 13” square. Hold both pieces together, using ½” seam allowance, sew 3 sides, leave 4th side
open. Turn, insert pillow form, sew 4th side closed. Sew crocheted piece in place.
